Description

DIVER DREDGING

Things tend to clog up over time, and buildup can lead to very costly – and unnecessary – repairs. Most typically, our dredging divers are tasked with removing built up sediment and debris constricting flow and functionality of intake systems. Maintaining the proper flow rate is the key to lower long term costs.

WHAT IS DREDGING?

We're talking about the practice of excavating accumulated sediment. The sediment dredging process involves removing excessive deposits of debris from shallow beds and re-depositing the material in appropriate areas. Oftentimes, dredging can be environmentally beneficial, by depositing spoils in areas where depth has been affected by erosion .

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

Buildup is pretty nasty stuff and can foul systems faster than you'd think. An underwater dredge vessel is employed for the removal of sediment, and the vessel is assisted by a team of trained and certified commercial divers. Most often, diver dredging is accomplished by diver-directed hydraulic or suction dredging, where the diver can manually suction out nooks and crannies.

THE MIDCO DIFFERENCE

Our team of specialized commercial divers uses high-tech machinery and resources to deliver an impeccable sediment dredging service for the removal of obstructive material from unwanted – and seemingly inaccessible – locations. Due to the delicate nature of dredging and the impact it can have on marine ecosystems, only an experienced dredging crew will complete the project in a timely and cost-effective manner while also giving you peace-of-mind about the task at hand.
